NKG - New Non-Flammable Mining Composite

New Non-Flammable Mining Composite, which is used as a basic raw material in the production of structural composite elements for explosion hazard zones through pultrusion or casting.

V Shaft Exhaust Diffusers at KWK Staszic PGG SA

This is the site of the first industrial implementation of the new NKG material, from which new protective barriers, handrails, stairs, and working platforms were constructed, fully replacing the corroded remnants of steel protective barriers. Under normal operating conditions, these barriers are exposed to continuous corrosion (in winter, with negative ambient temperatures, warm, humid air escapes from the exhaust shaft; in summer, similarly, warm, humid air creates permanent conditions conducive to corrosion and excessive wear of steel elements). Degraded steel elements that posed a threat to the safety of users and operators, as well as to their lives and health, were removed, and in their place, barriers and handrails made from NKG material were installed, significantly extending their lifespan for many years.
